I know a spanish guy that used to be a Casanova all his life.
And he was married few times, had factories ... went from the status of millionaire to bankruptcy few times, had an yacht, a beautiful house on the sea side in Spain, expensive cars ... and many, many amazing ladies in his life.
He had everything, but the Universe laughed few times of him ... taking also him everything he had.
Was a very powerful person, or at least this is how i saw him many, many times ... but it was a real pleasure to spend time in his company.
Never read any book in his life, but he was the greatest teacher i ever had.
Few weeks ago ... he called me, being my client for my company ... and also mentioned that he had colon cancer.
Was totally changed.
He was seeing the end of the world ... and even if he was not saying it ... you could feel it in his voice.
Few days later, he was emailing me saying that he is
resigning the contract with our company, but writing about all kinds of silly illusionary reasons.
I could not believe what he was writing in the emails, but the contract we had was so insignificant that i only replied to him ... “It’s ok!”
Nothing more ... nothing less.
A normal reply ... i considered being useless.
It was clear that he was afraid of death.
Such a powerful person, totally lost his minds ... and instead of exploring and defining what is going on in his soul, that the cancer appeared in his life ... he started to act as a silly boy.
Even if he lost everything few times in his life, now he was afraid that he will lose the life itself.
But all what i could see for the moment was that he was losing his mind ... not his life.
I was amazed that a man with such an experience of life, that i could define as my guru ... he was so afraid of ... death.
Casanova ... started to look as an old person ... and act weird with everybody around ... not understanding that behind the cancer there is a spiritual reason why it appears ... and that actually ... cancer is a disease of the soul.
I was unhappy for him .... cause he did not know how to act in front of death ... but i didn’t dare to tell him that the concept of death is just an illusory one and we should just smile in front of it.
Everyone of us ... have our own lessons to understand ... and a karma that is guiding us in this journey ... so maybe ... he will see in my reply at those silly emails ... “it’s ok!” ... the answer to his situation.
We should explore the difficult situations, define them ... but also embrace the present moment, no matter what that means ... even if it is about cancer ... or death.
